For our customer, leader in IT consulting we are seeking a Systems Administrator to contribute to a project involving the migration of servers from VMware to Hyper-V. Project information:Location: 100% remoteType of employment: contract of employment or B2BProject language: EnglishContract length: Indefinite/ long-termStart date: depending on candidate"s availabilityNumber of vacancies: 3 (we are building a new team who will be dedicated to this project) Your daily tasks:Participating in the migration project from VMware to Hyper-V, ensuring seamless transition and minimal downtime.Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, plan migration strategies, and execute the migration process efficiently.Configuring and optimizing Hyper-V environment for optimal performance and scalability.Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to server migration and virtualization platforms.Developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies for the new Hyper-V environment.Documenting migration procedures, configurations, and system changes accurately.Requirements:Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with a focus on virtualization technologies.Extensive experience working with VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors.In-depth understanding of server virtualization concepts, including VM implementation, migration, and performance tuning.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.At least Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.We offer:Private medical care with dental care (covering 70% of costs) + rehabilitation package. This system comprises several subsystems of varying ages and code bases. Project information:Location: 100% remotely Type of employment: contract of employment or B2B contractProject language: EnglishContract length: long-termStart date: depending on candidate"s availability You will be responsible for:Manage and maintain our Signalling Control System, which includes multiple subsystems.Address issues related to the migration of subsystems from a 32-bit operating system (Linux distribution known as Arch) to RedHat 9.Collaborate with hardware suppliers to ensure compatibility with the latest Intel chipsets.Ensure the 24/7 availability of the system with a target uptime of 99.9995%.Conduct technical reviews to identify and resolve potential issues arising from the migration.Develop and implement a systemic approach to identify and address faults associated with high-integrity, high-availability operational systems.Recommend best practices and approaches based on research and experience with similar migrations.Requirements:       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience as a RedHat System Administrator or similar role.In-depth knowledge of RedHat Linux operating systems.Experience with system migrations and troubleshooting complex issues.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication in English and teamwork abilities.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.We offer: Private medical care with dental care (covering 70% of costs) + rehabilitation package.
